We made several stops along the way to check out some sights, including the Kualoa Ranch (where parts of Lost are filmed), a beachside playground and the Macadamia Nut Farm.
Here's the pier for the sub from "Lost"
We had reservations at the Turtle Bay Resort to go horseback riding! (Anyone who knows Ellie, knows this is HER favorite activity!) Lisa decided to join us and this was something she had never done before. Finally, we get to show her something on the island! Being a local, Lisa was able to get us an AMAZING deal as she happened to know the gal that worked at the stables. The horses went thru a lush jungle, along the most gorgeous beaches and even out on a few of the beaches. They were well behaved and we all just had the BEST time. Lisa enjoyed it as well and said she would do it again. Here are several pictures and I will let them speak for themselves. (I was behind Lisa so have lots of pics of the back of her head!)
got Ellie this shirt for her birthday and
she insisted on having her picture taken with it.
It's a Life is Good shirt and here's the stock photo:

(Ellie's was in pink, of course!)
We hung out on the beach by Turtle Bay for a quick
swim and then headed to Haleiwa town. This is an
historic surfing town on the North Shore. We had
lunch and margaritas at Cholo's and then headed to the end of the road. This is as far as you can drive on this side of the island.
We saw the cabins that are used as the "Others" homes on the show "Lost". Very exciting as I'm a big fan:
Headed down the center of the island. Quick stops at Lowe's and the Carter's Outlet and we'd had a full day. Off to get Owen and supper at home. Lots of packing to do as we leave for Kauai tomorrow! Can't wait!
How wonderful...I wish I could be there. I think I would even ride a horse with a view like that.glad you are having a great time. We leave on Fri. June 12 for our vacation.
